Hello CERT Members,
I hope you’ve had a great
holiday and are looking forward to 2009. Please find below the
schedule of San Marcos CERT continuing
education classes. As a reminder we ask that you attend at least 4
training sessions per year. I’ve received some great feedback on what
classes many of you would like to have presented and I’ve been keeping a list
that we will choose from throughout the year. If
you would like to add a class topic
to the list please send me an email.
Our first training class
for 2009 will be on January 24th from 0830-1100 at the Training Facility.
We will cover CERT operations, the team concept and some forms to make your job
easier. We will finish up the morning
with a radio refresher then send you home early for a CERT radio drill from your
neighborhood. More information on the CERT radio drill will follow later.
Please mark the training
dates on your calendar and let me know of any additional training topics you’d
like to see.
Also, on January 24th we will be welcoming several new CERT members to our team who
just finished class #4.

CPR will be offered
6 times throughout the year and will count towards minimum
CERT attendance requirement. To attend CPR you must contact Maribel at 760
744-1050 ext 3405 and reserve your spot on one of the following dates-1/10/09,
3/14/09, 5/09/09, 7/11/09, 9/12/09, 11/14/09. Please identify yourself as
a San Marcos CERT member and there will be no cost for the class.
